The Way of Jesus
The model, mission, and method of making disciples are found in the life of Christ. We believe that in order to reproduce healthy disciple-making leaders, we need to follow the commands and commissions of Jesus. Everything rolls up to amplify the message of Jesus and His bride, the church. The local church is God's vehicle to propel the transformative work of God's Kingdom message on earth.
The health of a leader impacts the health of a church.
Only 35% of pastors under the age of 45 are ‘very satisfied’ with their vocation, compared to 58% of those 45 or older.
The younger the pastor, the deeper the struggle.
Many youth leaders today find themselves in complex and uncharted terrain. It’s concerning when the people who carry the present and future of the church are at their breaking point.
Our Approach
We believe the best approach is relationally imparting our lives as we guide leaders on the path of disciple-making. The Leadership Lab works with Josiah Venture partner churches and a network of youth pastors to strengthen and encourage healthy disciple-making.
The three focus areas of the Lab are rooted and found in the mission, model and methods of Jesus:
IMITATE JESUS - Walking with leaders to imitate the character and priorities of Jesus. We commit to learning about Jesus and following his pattern of life and ministry as deeply and intimately as possible.
MULTIPLY THE MISSION - Jesus was committed to creating a movement of multiplication. Our core conviction is that Jesus offers the pathway of disciple-making through carefully studying the gospels and
its implications for ministry.
TRAVERSE THE GAP - Jesus was intentional in crossing cultural barriers with grace and truth. Ministry leaders need the skills to live on mission in the ever-changing landscape. Jesus offers the anchors for leaders to live out the good news for kingdom transformation.
We all know that a good map is essential to reach your destination. The genius of the Leadership Lab’s unique strategy includes a map with ministry assessments and diagnostic tools. These tools help guide leaders to get from point A to point B on the path of disciple-making.
